MessageSkin-type & suitable oil for massageOil provides a slippery base for massage, so that the skin is not pulled and stretched while massaging. Pure vegetable, nut oil or olive oil nourish and lubricate the skin in a way that creams cannot. Oils are more efficiently absorbed and warm the skin to maximize absorption. Oil can block the pores of skin that is thin or over-handled. However pure vegetables oils don't spread a suffocating film over the skin or cause any harmful production. They contain fatty acids and fat soluble vitamins. Their absorption by the skin is relatively slow and takes effect over time. The best option is the cold-pressed vegetables oil sold in health food shops. Oils are better suited to certain skin types compared to others. Dry skins benefit more from oil rich in saturated fatty acids. Oil is absorbed more slowly and prevents water loss more effectively since it is thick and sticky. For oily skin, an oil with high percentage of polyunsaturated fats is more effective. As it is thinner and quickly absorbed into the skin. Here's a list of oil's suited for your skin type-For dry or ageing skinApricot, avocado, macadamia or wheat germ oil. Normal skin Almond, sunflower, sesame or olive oil. Olive oil being thick can be mixed with thinner oil for massage. Oily skin Hazelnut, peach kernel, thistle or hypericum oil. There are special oils with anti-ageing properties like Borage and evening primrose. These are costly and its sensible to blend it with one of the above carrier oils. The proportion is approximately one seventh of the main oil. Theses are good for all skin types.
